Die Arbeit it‘s Time darf man gerne als einen poetischen Hinweis verstehen, wie wir das Diktat der Uhr missachten und die Zeit jenseits des vorherrschenden physikalischen und von Ökonomie geprägten Zeitmodells begreifen könnten. An der Vernissage hatten die Besucher für kurze Zeit die Möglichkeit für wenig Geld Rubbellose zu kaufen. Die drei Gewinner erhielten einen von Diener gestalteten Wecker der als Ziffern nur die Null und die Lemniskate aufzeigte. Die Künstlerin hatte aber nicht nur das Zifferblatt verändert. Sie hatte auch die Mechanik der Wecker auf diverse Weise manipuliert, damit die neuen Besitzer sich nicht am Stand der Zeiger orientieren konnten. Einer der Gewinner berichtete später, er habe den Wecker auf zehn Uhr gestellt um seine Alarmfunktion zu testen. Diese funktionierte einwandfrei, doch der Wecker hatte die Zeit gedehnt. Er klingelte, allerdings erst zwei Tage später um vier Uhr morgens.

 

The work it’s Time can be understood as a poetic hint on how to disregard the dictates of the clock and understand time beyond the prevailing physical and economic model of time. At the opening, visitors had the opportunity to buy scratch cards for a short time for little money. The three winners received an alarm clock designed by Diener which showed only the zero and the lemniscate as digits. But the artist had not only changed the dial. She had also manipulated the mechanism of the alarm clocks in various ways so that the new owners could not orient themselves to the position of the hands. One of the winners later reported that he had set the alarm clock to 10 o’clock to test its alarm function. This worked perfectly but the alarm clock had stretched the time. He rang the bell, but only two days later at four o’clock in the morning.
